AlWheelDrive
So I decided to get aluminum control arms, and figured I'd go all out and get AVO bushings to put in them at the same time. I called my local stealership to get an idea of how much it'd be, and was told $400! I called Meineke and was quoted at $250...I'm a bit lost and wondering what it would typically cost to have a shop remove my old steel LCA's, press the AVO bushings into the new aluminum LCA's, and reinstall?? GTTuner
Don't let the average "Harry" press those aluminum control arms. You can screw those up good if your not experienced at doing those bushings.
whitetiger
you should be able to get it done for under $200. LCA's are a piece of cake to do.
AlWheelDrive
Thanks for the replies, I definitely wouldn't want just anybody doing it but $150 difference struck me as odd...I guess that's why it's the stealership!
AZP Installs
Our labor on an LCA install is 135. We've done then in steel, and the Spec B arms. While it isnt hard if youve done then, they are plenty of ways to screw things up. Have it done right at a Subaru knowledgeable shop. -Jake http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg Call directly for your best Whiteline Price! | We also carry almost every manufacturer now, so before you buy parts call us. XT_racer
i was quoted 1.5 hours per side for inner and outer bushings at the dealer.
AZP Installs
That would come to just about 300 estimating the dealer charges 100 an hour around here. With parts we charge 385 for Whiteline bushings (both inner and front) installed. - Jake
Code
AVO makes a tool to press them in/out if you're the DIY type "Striving to better, oft we mar what's well." - Bill Shakespeare - car modder
OutbackXT05
Are those AVO tools for sale now? I remember seeing the how to on the LCA bushing and the mention of the tools but never saw them for sale.
