swegowego
I have a legacy gtb that I just rebuilt but I just realized that the cool side of the passenger side turbo is filling up with coolant and I mean turbo is full of coolant. So I took the turbo out and was wondering if it happened to anyone having the turbo filling up with coolant. I am gonna have the turbo rebuilt but just wondering because I have never seen something like it
johnegg
i don't know anything about turbos, but i have read that the banjo bolt on some is the cause of turbo failure. i do not know if those failures are coolant related. good luck.
compsurge
It is possible the journal seal is bad. Do you have oil in the coolant too? Were you running the car with this issue?
swegowego
No I don't think I have, the car was running fine before It started overheating. Was not smoking or anything.
compsurge
I think it is time to replace your turbo or get it rebuilt. It sounds like the journal seal went. You likely have some oil in your turbo coolant reservoir or radiator.
taylormac1993
Yeah man have someone rebuild it. Theyre a bitch to do yourself... Also a coolant flush and oil change might be a good idea.
