Tinting the rear window

Has anybody had any problems with your defrost or antenna after you tinted your rear window.

No problems here, I have heard of problems if you go with the metallic tint though.

Philt how dark did you go?

20% All around, any darker and the cops start to pay attention here.

Thanks, what type of problems have you heard from metallic tint. I have used metallic in the past and it resists fading better, but I've never used it with a internal attenna.

There's a few threads around here somewhere, but I think it was mainly poor reception and/or static.

Had my wagon done earlier in the month, they used metallic everwhere except the rear window. Made Certain that they understood where the antenna was on the Legacy. I like to be able to see so my tint was 35%(?), would have to check the receipt to be sure.

 

Next month I might take it back to have the header of the windshield and the moonroof done.

I have not had any change since I tinted the window. Radio reception has always sucked in my car anyway. Since the tint is on the backside I cant see it affecting anything anyway

no problems here, 20%. and what they said - the radio reception has always been sucky.

Just had 3m material (20%) on the rears and (50%) on the front installed last week. 3m was a little more, but does not have metal properties like SolarGrad and the others. My radio reception is perfect.
