NovaWolverine
It may have the same power, but it won't be as punchy or good at the low end and like you mentioned modding will be expensive.

NovaWolverine
And it's JDM so you know they'll have to make a setup for the less attractive Outback we're getting here.

Guest
The 3.0 is a dog because......? Because it has to haul lotsa mass with lotsa powertrain loss with a slushbox.
Garandman
Because it has to haul lotsa mass with lotsa powertrain loss with a slushbox. So, an XT with a 5EAT is a dog also? All automatics are dogs? Who Dares Wins スバル

IwannaSportSedan
FHI/SOJ does an STI version of the Outback, but SOA goes ahead and cancels the Legacy wagon. That makes a lot of sense. Kill the sporty wagon, while the other guys make a tall wagon sporty. Does anyone in the bureaucracy know what they are doing? I probably already know the answer to that. axis008
I'm sure whatever the reason is, it's a similar or same reason BMW isn't bringing their M5 wagon stateside (for example). -ben
IwannaSportSedan
Because, like the news, too many people believe what they hear in the media... That everyone hates wagons, and everyone is anti-war. The truth is far less monolithic.
axis008
I believe so.. And AMG has the E63 wagon, too (I think). Beats me... -ben

Jon in CT
The 3.0 is a dog because......?Because it has to haul lotsa mass with lotsa powertrain loss with a slushbox.Your post, as usual, is garbage. The weight of the 3.0R is less than that of the corresponding 2.5 LGT (same transmission), at least in Australia. But maybe gravity works differently here in the US than in Australia. PGT
yet the 2.5L has more availble torque than the H6, so gravity is moot.
