The stock 07+ cars run higher boost than the 05-06.

Here's a datalog comparison. Keep in mind that the 07 datalog was started at a higher rpm. This affects boost below 3000 rpm. However, boost above 3000 rpm is a valid comparison.

The 07 datalog was done using a VAG-COM cable and enginuity logger.

In late 2005, SOA developed a new rom to correct stutter. It put a time delay in the WGDC to cap it at 30.2% for a set time. All reflashed 2005 cars plus all 2006 cars have this time delay. These cars will not be able to hit peak boost in 3rd gear. In 4th gear, they are more likely to hit peak boost.

I have reviewed the 2006 Spec B rom. It is 100% identical to the 2006 5MT rom. Same calibration id. The numeric values in the boost control are the same as the 2005 models and their datalogs show the same boost values.

Anyone who autocrosses in STU class should not buy a 2006 car.

The amazing part w/ that graph, is the Spec-B is SUPPOSEDLEY hitting that 15 at 2k RPMS. Show me a VF40 that does that in 3rd

Moreover, it hits it instantly, with no transient

Vimy, you crack me up

Edited after Mickey:Man, Vimy actually had me going  You are right mickey, that is AFR. Boost is not shown anywhere on the plot ;)

:spin:
