LeGiT in RI
maybe i can talk my father into that for his spare car- a '99 outback. his daily is an '01 or '02 outback w/the 6cyl. He also has a 96% restored '83 mercedes 300TD, having sold his '79 240D awhile back.. so he knows diesels.
LeGiT in RI
so I talked to my father the other day and told him that he should do it and he just was not receptive to the idea.. at all. FAIL. glad i didnt get his spirit for adventure.

flyer27
oh i ask all subie owners to just send subaru of america a email demanding for the boxer diesel or you will buy a jetta tdi. that was my previous car - I'll go back too if they put the TDI engine in the 4-motion passat wagon... I'm with you on the subie boxer diesel though, as that would definitely be my top choice! subscribed hoping to see someone buy this engine/build this subaru... hadvw
i have no doubt the diesels can make as much power as a stage 1 lgt and still get 45 mph city ! with shit loads of torque and fast spooling and be stupid reliable. What would it take to get this to that point though? Especially the HP part. Stock is 150 hp, 260 lb-ft. I can see the 260 going to 300-350. Getting 150 to 300?
