DylanGC Posted January 30, 2016 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Im trying to establish if my car has CAN-Bus or not. Its a 2006 JDM LGT 6MT with Si Drive. I have been reading that Subaru only started CAN-Bus with 07+ cars. But I have also been reading that Si Drive needs CAN-Bus to function. So a little confused. Does my car use CAN-Bus or not? Andy_Mac Posted January 31, 2016 Share Posted January 31, 2016 Yes it does. Mines an 06 JDM with SI Drive and uses CAN BUS. According to the tuner it isn't a full CAN BUS system like the 5th gens have but is used for flashing but does not correctly work for logging, some parameters work but not all, going back to fast K lets any parameter be selected. DylanGC Posted January 31, 2016 Author Share Posted January 31, 2016 Thanks for the info. Not for tuning, but for my head unit. Its android based and has some interesting CAN-Bus features. But I cant seems to get any to work apart from vehicle speed based volume control. So it might be that none of the body control modules are using CAN-Bus on our cars.
