iahtnoob
I'm going to sea foam the car. Should I use the bpv hose to drip the sea foam into?

compsurge
I haven't seafoamed my lgt, but in all my other applications, I used the vacuum line coming off the brake booster. I would also use another person to apply throttle to keep the car from stalling by pressing lightly on the accelerator until I had the right amount of liquid in. owenmaxx
i wouldnt add that stuff int he crankcase btw. also you need to change out spark plugs when your done. i dont belive into those products tho .
compsurge
Seafoam works great. In fact the Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner is the same stuff. Follow the directions on the can and change your oil afterward. There are various threads on other forums on this subject. Have fun with the smoke show
Bdubs
I suggest using the BPV hose. Have someone help you out by stepping on the gas to rev the car up as you do it, otherwise you are stuck trying to maneuver the throttle, not flood the engine, or spill the stuff all at the same time. spartan
I used to do this to my DSM's all the time. Just make sure that you change the plugs and the oil afterwards if you run it through the intake. I would also want to make sure that you are running it through the throttle body and not straight into the intake mani, to ensure even disbursment. iahtnoob
Throttle body or bpv. Why is there so many conflicting methods? And also what if I already changed the plugs prior to seafoaming, then should I not even seafoam?
compsurge
I think you should be fine. I have never changed plugs after seafoaming, only oil.

Madjik_Man
Instead of using the vacuum line (because I'm semi-tarded) can I just add it to the gas tank during a fill up? On their website it says something like 1 oz per gallon dispensed.
compsurge
I think the intent of the gas tank fill is to help clean out the fuel system and injectors. The BPV/vacuum line would be for cleaning the head/cylinders.

JoeFromPA
I've always been curious about why all the "carbon deposits" that subsequently burn off appear as white smoke. Seems counterintuitive to me

HtrdlncN281
I used the BPV vacuum hose. Worked great for me, there was a bit built up in there, the smoke was a little gray

quick4dr
is it the same procedure if I have a grimmspeed AOS? any better of photo available? Use to use seafoam on my last car worked wonders. always heard mixed views of running it on turbo motors cause the shit that burns up then spins through the turbo a bit. 04NP
Another thread on this forum talks about Seafoaming through the PCV valve because the brake booster hose only goes into 1 cylinder... not sure what I should do here. Don't want to ruin the car but I have a pretty rough idle (whole car shakes) and not the smoothest acceleration in the world. 105k miles, really want to clean it up... I believe the consensus is to use the BPV hose. Don't forget to get your timing belt changed if you haven't already done so You may also want to look at injectors, spark plugs, and mounts for the roughness.
