Diggs753 Posted June 24, 2007 Share Posted June 24, 2007 Since Va is now adding a new civil fine to drving violations they've given me no choice but get a radar/lazer detector.Any good suggestions on hat works well and is easy to hide in space like the cubby pod. oh yeah ...Good Job General Assembly.Way to approve a transportation "Authority"..one that cant't be replaced due to incompentance...like Homeland Security and the losers at VDOT and TSA. Either one will wokr just as well and it's entirely up to the driver to use these tools properly. Both have VG1 built in and are un-detecable by radar detector detectors. jpapworth Posted June 25, 2007 Share Posted June 25, 2007 Your guys are behind the times. I dumped my X50 a few months back for the new Escort 9500i. Its got a GPS feature built in so you can program known speed traps in and program know false alarms out (like grocery stores and gas stations). It can also verify your speed through GPS and it adjusts its sensitivity based on your speed. It does a few other things but I can't remember right now. Also, as nice as the GPS feature is....it's not worth it if you already have an X50. A radar signal is a low frequency em wave...you don't have to 'emit' a signal to see a flashlight beam, and you can see a flashlight beam long before the person holding it can see you. I think the microwave reciever in the detector can also emit a low level signal that cen be picked up if it's not shielded properly. I use a Escort Solo2 and its great it is a wireless that runs on AA but it gets the job done, might be getting a lil old (2years now? 3?) but still works fine all the time... and with no wires and the ability to place anywhere.... priceless. *sidenote* Im from VA originaly and if i member correctly radar detectors of any kind are illegal there.... may wanna look into that... nothing like having a cop roll up next to or in front and pull u over for having one... happens... ive been pulled over on a highway (75mph speedlimit) for having a licenceplate cover. So wtf does the "poop" mean good or bad man....If you're trying to be clever don't.......it's a waste of time and I don't respond well to it.SEARCH function is thy friend. Beyond that you have already been told the two options. One gets you extra arrows for an extra 100 bucks. I find that worthless.
