Questions about 2006 Spec B

Recommended Posts

I am considering the purchase of a left over 2006 Spec B. Could anybody please help me with these questions?

-Will 17" wheels fit on the car? (for winter tires)

-What is the RPM at 80 mph in 5th gear?

-What can be done with the Nav while driving? Can I select destinations? Can I pre select destinations and store them in an address book? Can I choose from the address book while driving?

-How is the AM reception?

-Did anybody REMOVE their wing? If so, did you buy a new decklid or have the holes bondoed?

-Does the passanger seat BOTTOM tilt like the drivers side? ( I know the answer is NO for a regular GT, forgot to check the Spec B yesterday)

-Are the headlight bulbs regular H4?

-Are those brick red seats real leather?

Thanks!

I'm sure we can. Great decision! I absolutely love my ride. :icon_mrgr

Sure will. MagLGT has even downsized to 17's 'cause of NYC potholes. You can slap on 13's and 80 series tires to maintain the same ride height if it floats your boat.

-What is the RPM at 80 mph in 5th gear?

Around 3500 if I remember correctly. The car's got a really short rear-end (and front-end) 1:4.11 like the muscle cars of old. Regardless, I still get about 26 - 27 MPG strictly highway cruising at 70 - 75.

-What can be done with the Nav while driving? Can I select destinations?

Most things but enter a destination. There's a hack to get around it.

Can I pre select destinations and store them in an address book? Can I choose from the address book while driving?

Yes and yes.

-How is the AM reception?

Excellent.

-Did anybody REMOVE their wing? If so, did you buy a new decklid or have the holes bondoed?

Mine didn't come with one thank God. A better and more proper procedure is to gind the surrounding ared down and weld them shut first. Then apply a skim coat of body filler and paint.

-Does the passanger seat BOTTOM tilt like the drivers side? ( I know the answer is NO for a regular GT, forgot to check the Spec B yesterday)

Don't remember. Now I'm curious myself. I'll have to check tonight.

-Are the headlight bulbs regular H4?

Not sure. Someone else I'm sure will chime in. You can use the Search feature too.

-Are those brick red seats real leather?

Yes indeed!

Thanks!

13's would not likely clear the rotors/calipers. But 17's should because IIRC, there isn't really an upgrade to a larger brake kit for the spec.B vs. the LGT.

13's are hot...

13's w/Spinners and 165/85/13 Sears specials FTW!

Oooh! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout! These provide outstanding handling and razor-sharp steering reponse.

Or order a new wing and have them paint it and get the price included in the loan

MacLGT-B has got 17's on his Spec.B. I can tell you first hand for a fact since I've inspected his car up close. His car is below. I'm nearly certain he didn't swap out the brakes for WRX's or any other. PM and ask him to confirm.

The 13-inch comment was sarcastic and fun and I hope was taken as such. I hope nobody would ever commit such a sin. :icon_cool
