Got pulled over for having a radar detector in Quebec, My girlfriend was driving and we were not speeding. The Rcmp said he was pulling us over for using a radar dectector which is illegal in Quebec, I got my radar detector taken from me and $620 fine WTF!

If I pay me fine I get my radar detector back by mail.

I don't know how he found out my radar did not go off and it's hardwired and mounted near the rear view mirror. I guess they have something that detects them some how.

Other than that Quebec city is awesome.

I wish it was that easy. The ticket was given to my girlfriend as she was driving at the time, the mountie said the if we didn't pay it they would issue a warrant for her arrest, which means no more trps to Canada.

Believe me I would love not to pay it.It would be a good excuse to buy the Escort SR7.

I wonder if the would check her at the border if she tried to renter.

Dose anyone have any experience with this?

My guess is that when we went thru customs the officer there might have seen it and called the RCMP with our tags.We were not speeding and the radar detector did not go off. He just flew uo behind us and pulled us over.

My dad's old S600 had a radar detector hard wired into the dash and the lights were embeded into the speedo. Sensor was I believe up front at the top point of the grill. It was the coolest thing ever since radar detectors are illegal in VA. He had his own limo company and was always speeding.

I had mine mounted were you could not see it just below the tint and the suction cup is attached to the tint area. There is no way he could see it ,we were not stopped so it's not like we were at a light or pulled over.

it just sucks, I will have to drive 500 miles back home at the speed limit too!

LOL

Best radar detector is picking someone that is going faster than you and laying back behind them. As soon as he hits his brakes you lower your speed. No need to drive the speed limit.
