Prodrive Exhaust Muffler for Legacy GT

The Prodrive's Legacy rear sport mufflers are a direct replacement for the stock muffler, fitting in the stock location with the factory hangers. The mufflers are polished stainless steel with a polished tip. The free flowing design improves your vehicles performance and enhances the characteristic flat-four exhaust note with minimal noise increase. Great additional to any 05+ Legacy GT.

Umm to answer a few questions...

MSRP is set at $599 and I believe most dealers have to sell at that price.

It is just the dual muffler section, that is all the exhaust components that are on that car.

and Patagonian GT Dan is a good friend and I told him I'd make a new video to replace "his" old one that he posted up which seems to be the only one on net. So I guess you could call it a PSA :). Plus he hooked it up with those mufflers, besides from a number of things that are soon to be released in the future from Prodrive.

$599 if the price hasn't changed recently. Can't comment on the sound quality with stock res/Y but I tried them with the Lachute res/Y and they were VERY loud. Also, I ran into some fitment issues on my wagon. Other people have put them on wagons - some had fitment issues, while others did not. I'll try and get the video uploaded this weekend.

If I am correct, I believe these mufflers made specifically for a wagon and to bolt directly to any 05+ Legacy GT. This concludes the shorter tip compared to some of the other brands out there and it doesn't stick out of the bumper as much. Dan said to me, he loves how he can just look down from up top the rear bumper and just read "Prodrive" clearly and not much more.

side-note: Don't know if you guys noticed, but I just did...you can actually see my boss's carrera gt in the background of the first video. how sweet!

Like the Borla CBE and other (but not all) LGT exhausts and mufflers, the Prodrives are 1SFA (One Size Fits All) and are tucked in more on the wagon than on the sedan. As I stated in my previous post, there have been fitment issues on wagons over and above the aesthetics, specifically that the mufflers' hangers do not line up with the car's donut hangers. Here's some pictures to show you what I mean.

Prodrive hanger completely misses donut:

Prodrive hanger barely makes it to donut:

Stock hangers for comparison:

The Prodrive mufflers drone on a(other wise stock exhaust) GT wagon to my sorry surprise and others have said the same.Fitment is so so .

Prodrive has always been late to the party, so to speak, springs, chips, exhaust ,etc. They have been known to leave you waiting fr a part they announce and never produce.:(

Prodrive USA has always been hit or miss,,sorry Dan(Prodrive) but you know it's the truth.

ps,I have had Prodrive parts on all my cars from RS to STi,great products usually,IF they are available.

I love the way my Lachutes don't stick out as the Prodrives do!

IF and ONLY IF Prodrive decides to make a sedan specific, I'd jump in and since SOA is killing the GT wagons, THAT would be the logical move of Prodrive take.

Man do I love Prodrive,(proof: my old RS: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2439686 ) but untill then, I'll stick with Lachute.

Just my point of view!

unless you have a wagon, and then they are tucked like stock. on a WRX wagon, the tip sticks out far enough to burn the effigy on your leg if you aren't careful

I test fitted these on my 06 LGT sedan. As some of the earlier threads show, the cans I tried did not clear the donuts. I was very surprised at the poor fitment. The Subaru parts manager contacted Prodrive and got the rep to acknowledge the problem. The Prodrive rep also said that they had corrected the hanger issue and would send a new set... with the same problem. That was over four months ago and still no new cans.

I'm afraid that I won't be waiting on Prodrive any longer.

Cheers!
