malachii
Thought I'd post some pics of my new legacy winter rims and tires. I bought them from steelcase tires in toronto, canada. The rims were sourced by steelcase through tire-rack distribution (for the rims). The rims are kazera kz-v. They are generic rims, and I bought them because of their low price, relative good looks, and rim width (7 inch, not 7.5 inch). The tires are nokian WR's. I've had the older NRW version of these in the past and loved them as city winter tires - long life, good 'handling' when we don't have snow (often), and much-improved-over-all-seasons winter capabilities. I bought them as a package from steelcase tires for $1600 canadian, which is about $1150 green backs. I didn't want to pay for better hub-centered wheels like superlegs, bbs, etc - for winter rims. Drive safe, Mal. p.s. Not sure how to post pics correctly. Can anybody tell me how to do that please? I've simply linked to images on my website. TeeLoo
For posting pics just click on vB codes (at the bottom of the page when posting a reply or topic) and you'll see examples on how to post pics (they have to be hosted somewhere on an internet site though). You can also add pics as attachments now I believe (pics from your pc or digital camera). Nice package and good value, Mal. FYI, my package was quoted to me at $2000 CAD, tires mounted. P.S. That is one scary dog in your avatar. 2005 Legacy GT Wagon Ltd 5EAT Garnet Red 1999 GTI VR6 Black - sold but not forgotten...

malachii
I'm looking forward to trying out the rims and tires this winter. I thought about going with 'legaras because they are hub-centric, but I would have paid around $2000 as you did. I decided to save a few dollars. The dog's actually really friendly so long as we "let you in" to the house. He's a big sucky dog most of the time. He doesn't look scary to us anymore though - but since people cross the street rather than walk next to us on the sidewalk, I guess the general population agrees with you :-) Mal. malachii
If there was a cheaper option (less fancy) available for the 05 legacy I would have gone for it. Those rims you see are the cheapest I could get to have winter tires! Mal. p.s. Regarding my scary dog avatar... This pic I took today of him in my lap probably shows him in a different light. It's not as cool an avatar though ;-) http://www.wadesoft.com/transfer/cute_mika.jpg

rotaryracer
Malachii, are the Kazera rims hub-centric or do they use centering rings? I'm looking to get a set of either Kazera or ASA rims as winter wheels and would rather not goof around with centering rings if I can avoid it. Thanks! malachii
rotary, All ASA and Kazera rims are NOT hub centered. You do have to put a centering ring (supplied) on the hub prior to installing the rim. You may have access to inexpensive Rota rims in the states which i did not have here in Canada. They are (I believe) hub centered, but are 7.5 inches wide instead of 7 inches wide (better for winter). For winter, I don't mind having centering rings - they're still much nicer than the steel rims I used to have to wear in winter driving! Saved me about $300 US dollars to put up with centering rings :) Mal.
