That rubber stuff, it goes around the outside of all the wheel wells and I think it would look a lot nicer if they weren't there.

Interesting. I don't think I've seen that on any BG before. Somebody could have added that on. Those are on there with adhesive. Heat gun will take it right off, but you'll have some residue left on afterward so you may want to find some of the 3M adhesive remover.

The line between the two paint colors is actually a color matched decal. The real paint line is just a rough airbrush line. Looks like your decals have deteriorated pretty badly.

So I picked up a heat gun today and found some 3M adhesive remover at NAPA (the last place on my list of places to look). So a few hours, lots of chips in the paint from the razor, and two burns later I got one side done and started on the other side, I'll finish tomorrow.

why are you using a razor. of course your goin to have chips in the paint, use a very dense plastic card, or like object

I never thought to not use a razor, but my cars paint isn't perfect anyways, and I can always just get some touch up paint lol.

If you use the heat gun for long enough the panels get SERIOUSLY hot.

So does the heat gun.

Anyways, got everything off and all that is left is to use the adhesive remover, I'll probably do that tomorrow morning.

Just spray that stuff on and let it soak in and use a microfiber cloth to buff it out. You'll have to keep spraying it after the initial soak, but it works great.

Thanks so much for the advice! I was just spraying it on a cloth and rubbing it on, which did nothing, so I was about to call it quits when I came in and read this. Went out, soaked both sides then let it sit for a few minutes, resoaked and let sit then went to work spraying a little on then wiping it off with a towel and it worked great!

Time to do the stuff around the wheel wells followed by getting the lower decals off too. Also going to be ordering touch up paint this weekend to cover up my stupidity.
