Mrstacy
Santa brought me a navigation screen and i'm trying to do this myself. I'm replacing a H/K Harman Kardon navigation unit. 1) can i use the OEM backup camera? 2) Where is the power on the H/K unit? 3) Where is the antenna? FAILBOT
It's been far to long since I've worked in car audio, but I'll give you what little I can till someone chimes in. 1) Yes, you can use an OEM camera if you know the correct wiring. Unless there is an aftermarket adapter, it's not going to be plug and play. It will have to be hardwired. 2) Are you cutting off the factory harness to hardwire? Please don't. Get the appropriate adapter harness for your car and in most cases the wires will color match the aftermarket harness. If not, then cross reference from the installation manuals for both. 3) Where is the antenna on the H/K radio? From the looks of it, you are going to need an antenna adapter as well to convert to a standard antenna. Pick it up when you go get the harness you'll need. That's all I can really say given the pictures. There are some other resources on this forum somewhere on pinouts for the H/K amp as well. Good luck!
