First to prove it (I got the badge so it makes it true)!

But lets start from near the beginning:

First there was Redbaru

IMG_0731.JPG

But Redbaru got really sick and so not knowing which direction I wanted to go, she sat... for three years. But before I went without a car I found Bluebaru (this is the first picture I saw on line of BB)

It was "LOVE" that's for sure!

And then the mods began!

Thanks MrLancaster! Just spent some time looking at the evolution of you Anya - very nice! Was inspired to spend an hour on eBay pondering what my OB would look like with some rear spats. I'd love to find a rear "Lancaster" badge as well.

Thanks Guig'z! The fronts are direct bolt-ons while the rears need the Kartboy "seriously!? You want how much for your rear brake adapter wishbones?!?!" The adapters also needed to be slightly modified so that the right rear caliper fit on the left side and the left rear caliper fit on the right. That way the bleeder valves are in the up position for bleeding. Otherwise you'll have trouble getting trapped air out and next to impossible to get a good firm brake feel.

My brake upgrade includes:

WRX full big red 4/2 pot calipers

SS lines

Perrin master cylinder STIFFI

STI brake booster and master cylinder

Had the speed bleeders on but they are all trash. I broke one off trying to get the air out and then my local (they're pretty good) tire and brake shop broke the other one off trying to do the same so eff the speed breakers!

I will be getting Hawks (like I had on my OEM setup and LOVED LOVED LOVED) as soon as I get more cash for my habit.

Thanks! Really great!

I might only put some fronts, rear I dont really need it!

I put the fronts on before swapping out the rears and it was a great setup and totally sufficient braking. I only put the rears on because I had them and was a bit ignorant about what kind of difference it would or wouldn't make. If I had to do it again, I might have painted my stock rears to match the big red fronts and leave it at that.

Cheers!

Subh

Yeah shes definitely come a long way. Im also jealous of your headlights. Possibly getting them on the spring. I will ask my friend if he can find another Lancaster badge for you.

You may have seen this pic. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k115/T-Ho_man/0817111843.jpg Took it yesterday. Most recent. Too bad you live so far away. Would be awesome to get shots of our outbacks together!

MrLancaster, I've not had too many rock hits on Bluebaru yet but have had hits on both the '97 Leg OB (Redbaru) and Toy Corolla which have either broke or chipped the deflectors bad enough to have to replace them. I'm pretty confident that if they didn't save the hoods from damage, they at least saved the paint job. I also think it's not so much the rock hits you have to worry about as much as the constant flow of tiny bits of debris and sand which has a sandblasting effect to the paint. That's why the deflectors have a bit of an upward spoiler curve so that the wind and hence debris flows up and over instead of across the hood and windscreen.

BTW MrLancaster, when I told my wife the name of your baru, Anya, she laughed. She's Hungarian and said that Anya means "mother" in Hungarian. I understand you were born in Omsk, Russia so wonder if you share the same meaning, though I know they're totally a different languages?
