Moving to Cheyenne this August

Hi everyone, like the title states, I'll be moving to Cheyenne sometime in August. I've been a member on here for awhile. I'm in the military and lived in Alaska, Georgia and soon, Wyoming. I was hoping to meet anyone and everyone out there, whether it be from Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nebraska, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota. You get the idea. Hey if anyone is interested in doing whatever, drives, barbeques, just relaxing whatever, let me know. I'm totally stoked about moving out there and can't wait to meet yall. I'm married and have two kids, love the outdoors, fishing, skiing, hiking, motorsports, motorcycles. I'm getting carried away now. If anyone has any suggestions for hangouts, places to camp, fish what have you, please drop a line here. Thanks again and I hope to meet some fellow Subaru drivers.

You're excited to move to Cheyenne?! ;)

Denver is only about 100 miles away, and there's plenty of folks around here, but it seems we don't meet like we used to. I know there's a few folks in Fort Collins, and that's only maybe 40 miles from Cheyenne (a few good breweries there).

Welcome to the Rockies!

Hey Brady,

Thanks for the response. Yeah I've done plenty of research on the area, as far as how far Denver is, C.S., Fort Collins, etc. I've been trying to find a house for rent or sale in the local metro of Cheyenne. Nothing yet sadly.

So not much interest in meets or rides? That's sad. Well down in Georgia, there are hardly any Subaru's around, but there's plenty of bikers, and I noticed not many people rode together. So I took it upon myself to get the guys and girls rounded up and went for 2-3 hr rides on Saturday's. Maybe I can get the blood flowing again up there. I gotta tell you, the Legacy hates this heat down here, but man it was an absolute dream driving in Alaska. I sure hope there's alot of snaky roads up there.

I'll hit you up on here when I finally get up there and settled, most likely close to September.

Any sport bike riders around on here?

We used to have a bunch of meets. Maybe I'm not invited anymore since I've parked the Legacy and just drive my Company Car Ford Taurus.

Or maybe I just haven't noticed when they're going on anymore since I'm always gone. Keep your eyes peeled in here.

I dont live in Cheyenne, but i go there quite a bit. I have family there, they live in the countryside. I like it a lot there. Just be prepared to see lots of hondas, there about as abundant as the prairie dogs

And get ready to use the all wheel. The snow drifts can get a bit out of hand sometimes!

Cheyennes not too bad stay to the country side and it's nice in the city they have a little Meth problem. I have traveled through there many times to meet my brother in law from Montana. Ft. Collins is a great place also not to far from Cheyenne, I went to college there and had a great time.

That reminds me, I just saw a thread on here about emissions.....so does Wyoming or Colorado have emissions (Cheyenne, Fort Collins areas to be exact)? What do they require?

Yeah a car crew sounds good, just as long as there's no douche bags with us, acting a fool and what not. Tasteful cars is what I like to be around, not the run of the mill hoopties and cavaliers, scions, neon, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with them.....unless they're fully built up and like I said, tasteful(not tacky) lol.

All of your ideas sound great man. Do you live on base or in town or what not? i'm asking 'cause the wife and I are thinking of staying on base for 6 months or so, until we find a house to rent or own, preferable own if we like it there enough. I'm guessing I'll be there for at least 3 years before I pcs again.

Pictures yes I have some pictures. I'll throw some up if you'd like lol. Mind you, it's a work in progress, it's been under construction since I got it almost 4 yrs ago lol. Military doesn't pay a whole lot, crap I don't have to tell you that!

haha i agree the crew im in right now isnt bad but theres a few in that i think are tacky id like to start own crew but well have to find ppl for it. i live in town im AGR (active duty guard) the houses here can be pricy so ul have to look around, if your thinking youl only be here for 3 years i wouldnt buy anything. as far as military pay lol it pays good i think for the fact that you cant really find a job anywhere haha. o and its cold and occasionally snowy like 7 months outa the year here, iv lived here my whole life so dont get to excited haha. but if ur an out doors kinda guy you should find it fun. you have a facebook or anything? whats your job?

Yeah I've got facebook, I'll pm you my link. I'm currently in tech School cross-training from Avionics Specialists on F-15s & A-10s, now I'll be a Heavy Equipment Operator. Thanks for lying to me and telling me that Wyoming is the best place in the world lol. I'm sure we'll have a great time, we love the outdoors and we make the best out of where we live. After all, I picked this assignment, well it was my third choice. Either way, one more month and I'll be on my way out there.

Hello, new to the forum. I currently live in Cheyenne right now. Been here for a while. Good to see someone from the area on the forum as well. Hope to talk to you soon.

Hey man, welcome!

How long is a "while" lol? Trying to find a house quickly out there, no luck though. Where do you work?

Joined the forum back in 2007 and just never got back to officially logging back on through the years. I was "lurking."

Quite a few houses for sale in my area. East side of town. Low to upper 200's.

I am a consultant for the Air Force, so my office is on base. There are a few Legacies in town, starting to notice more and more. I also venture out down the front range a lot. I am originally from Colo Spgs, so still have a lot of friends and family throughout Colorado. In fact, I just got back from a Rockies game today.

hey iv seen your your car on base just never had a chance to talk

Same here. I usually am driving trying to conceal cell phone usage on base . Where do you work? I am at the clinic.

I saw your comment about starting a team; I am originally from Colo Spgs, but have been living here since 1998. I started a car club back then, but had to stop and turn it over to a friend of mine, when I got married and had a child. But now that things have sort of calmed down, I was thinking about the car scene again. I even ordered new agressive fitment wheels to fuel the fire again.
