"Magical" alignment specs?

Wondering if there have been any tried and true alignment specs for our cars that seem to work better than anything else.

I've been doing some reading in here, and it seems that about -1.4 is just about the perfect balance for handling and even tire wear.

What about toe?

Caster? Can you even adjust the caster on the Legacy?

Post up your alignment specs and your experiences with it. I specifically would want to read about tire wear, street handling and track handling. You also might want to throw in what kind of driving you're usually doing (mostly backroads, city, dedicated solo2/track, drag, etc)

nah, it depends on your use.. you can't expect one alignment to be the "best" because there's no way a street alignment will ever hold up on a race track or autocross.. and you can't expect to run track specs on the street and expect to have your tires to last.

Heck, even for me as I run wider tires, I have to actually dial out some camber and toe to make use of the contact patch..

If I had to post up all my setups, my post would be a size of a small novel.

-1.2 up front, -1 in back. Point all tires straight ahead. It's a good sporty street alignment. You don't get to adjust caster or rear camber (aside from doing it by height).

My tires wear pretty evenly around town/highway/etc. No point in going any higher than that in camber unless you're on track/autox, even then I'd debate it if you're just a casual drop in.

I just had my car aligned for the first time yesterday. Keep in mind I had hit a pothole causing my right front tire to blow out 6,000 miles ago when I switched to M3's. I haven't driven on this alignment enough to notice a difference yet. I was noticing slightly odd behavior of the steering but I would have guessed a pull to the right and not to the left as the numbers would indicate.
