Hops
Lifted my '98 Outback using '08 Forester struts/springs/tophats. Everything swapped right in... Already had a slight lift with bigger wheels/tires from my wife's Baja. Before http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/d0f5e505.jpg After http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/dfe359dd.jpg These are 225/50/17 and are just as tall as the Baja wheels/tires are. As you can see, the ass didn't get raised as much as the front. Subtle Solutions said 1" saggy butt spacers for 02-07 Imprezas will do the trick... Just ordered them. http://www.subtle-solutions.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_23_33_84&products_id=112 I'll update when these come in... Rear suspension: Outback left, Forester right. You can see they look pretty close, but the spring is taller for the Fozy. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/9e8d5af3.jpg Front suspension: Outback right, Forester left. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/13293378.jpg Oil changes should be easy without the use of ramps or jack stands. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/76b062b6.jpg More to come... skibob6
Nice. I was hoping to someday go in this direction with my LGT but i was thinking of using outback sus. maybe i should consider the forrester for my doner...
Hops
Forester will definitely make it taller than the SUS! SUS goodies would look cool on an LGT sedan, though... Buy my cars!
TbirdMan
only issue with doing this to a GT is the fact that you lack the slight body lift the O/B and SUS have, so your CV's will be running a bigger angle.

Hops
You know... It feels the same so far. BUT, it could benefit with thicker sway bars. Ordered the spacers two hours ago and already have shipping confirmation for Subtle Solutions. Bad ass. Buy my cars!

Bad ass. i wouldn't mind it if when i ordered things i could get a shipping confirmation within' two hours...there's always a mix up with my orders. i'm starting to suspect an omen

skibob6
only issue with doing this to a GT is the fact that you lack the slight body lift the O/B and SUS have, so your CV's will be running a bigger angle. The body lift is just spacers though right? And if I did do this swap in my GT wouldn't it look taller (than JDMchizad) because it was all suspension height and not body spacers? As far as the angle on my CV's I wouldn't really be worried with all the math done I think or axles could probably go like 30 degrees before there was really any binding issues. Hops
The spacers fit right on top of the top hats Buy my cars!
98quiksilvergt
I would like to get my lgt the same hight as your back end. I have wrx struts and lowering springs on it now. That's not good for NY winters. If I use outback struts and springs will I get higher than stock lgt hight without the body lift stuff that's on the OB? Hops
Yep! And my stock suspension is far sale. Whole assembly... Struts, tophats, springs Buy my cars!
98quiksilvergt
How did the old stuff ride? Top hats tight? How much? Will the wagon rear struts fit on a sedan?

Hops
Damn bolts have to be removed from the top hats! Big hammer didn't do it so I might have to torch em. Buy my cars!
Hops
And my LGT wheels rub in the back just barely! Ordered some wheel spacers... Buy my cars!
Hops
Done! Looks perfect. Had to remove stock tophat bolts... Big pain in the ass. Used sledgehammer. Put Baja wheels back on until my spacers show up. Fresh rubber on LGT wheels, so it should lift it just a little bit more. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/94334daf.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/eb0c83c9.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/eeedc5ba.jpg Top hat goes here: http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/e5c306dc.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/5093b285.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/d362a4a7.jpg I'll post more when the LGT wheels are back on...
