Kartboy's Spec-b 6 Spd Short Shift Kit!

Rambo

Recommended Posts

As of today Kartboy has designed a short throw shifter for the 07 legacy spec-b. Which has a shorter throw than the sti short shifter kit. Also is totally diffrent design than the impreza sti shifter that is avaliable.

Today i was at Kartboy and Tom tested the shifter on my car, He installed the shifter, front and rear bushings and a shift knob.

Now how the shifter works, throws are much shorter than the sti kit. The shifts are smooth and firm, very comfy feel. Also i noticed that the shifter does not vibrate like stock at any speeds.

As many of you know Kartboy is a Quality product, And Tom is a Great guy. So buy his parts! He stands by everything he makes 100%.

Pricing and avaliability will be on Kartboy's website.

Thanks Tom

100% Satisfied!!

Thanks for the update Rambo!

I've been on the hunt for a STS this past week. Did you get to compare it side to side with the the STI short shifter?

Do you know what the kit you had installed will retail for?

Anxious!

Thats great, when is the STS going to be officially for sale? in a month?

also once these officially go on sale, we should promote ours as much as possible all over the boards, esp since the Spec B 6MT is not the most common trans configuration avail and Tom was gracious enough to actually develop and sell this.

Can't wait for this either. I'm assume Kartboy's website will update when we can order it as well?

As much as I love the Kartboy logo... Is there anyway you can get a regular 6 speed sticker on there? Not so much for me, but the idiot valet, who doesn't know it's a 6 speed or where reverse is?

I mean I could always draw it on with magic marker... but I doubt that would look as good. :)

I hear ya dude... but seriously, you let valet's drive your car?

It's like asking some dude in a vest, whom I don't know, to take my new hot ass GF home and put her to bed - just for a bit....till i come home.

You never know what's going to happen! (i mean, i do trust my car...err.... woman?).

Ok, I'm just the jealous type!

So when's the access port coming out now that we have a sort shifter available???

Hey fonts!

do you live anywhere near Toronto? you missed our Legacy meet last night... near the 401 and Kennedy. Good turnout, some nice modded leggy's too.

Check out the toronto subaru club forum if you're interested in joining us next time. You can rep the spec.b with me...

BTW, I met Chris from Touge Tuning last night (stealth1 on the TSC board) - and he is the Canadian Kartboy dealer. He's gonna keep tabs on the shifter for our cars, and get me one when they're available...... maybe we should arrange a Toronto group buy?

cheers!

There is a restaurant by my house that we go to about once a month that is ONLY valet... boo to that. Also, sometimes when the parking garage is full, it has to be valeted. It's either that, or take my chances on the street, and I don't work in the best part of Pittsburgh.

Hey carrata...

Ha ha... Didn't make it out. A bit much of a trek for me on a Sunday night. I'm in Sudbury but my in-laws are in Barrie so I get down south often enough. Whenever I'm in the area with a bit of notice I'll throw you a PM.

Certainly interested in the Kartboy STS when they're available. If you're talking to Chris maybe ask how he wants to set up for registering for a group buy if there's enough interest ...

Thanks.

Sudbury, gotcha. not exactly next door..... It's like asking members from Ottawa to come out for a meet! (also~4 hrs)

I'll keep you up to date if i hear anything about the shifter. I think I'm gonna do all the bushings too.

Hey Rambo, did you do the transmission mounts too? would they work for our cars?

Ha ha. Exactly. But I do get down south regularly enough.

Certainly appreciate if you could pass on any info from Chris that you get. I'd also be interested in the whole package.

Thanks.
