integrate the reverse lights into tail lights

Recommended Posts

Between sets training my client I was staring at my car and thought it would look really cool if Subaru integrated the reverse lights into the tail lights. Especially on the wagon. Think it would give the tailgate a nice clean look. Especially since I just de-badged it.

thoughts?

Kevin at SoD PM'ed me and told me he had die-cut tinted vinyl ready for the back-up lights. As soon as he replies back with a link, I will buy them. Couldn't find them on hotsubaru.com . Going to paint the chrome black and black out the reverse lights.

Hey, I thought I included the link when I PM'd... Sorry. It is nutty here.

They are mixed in with the tails at the moment - HERE

Under the select your vehicle drop-down select " reverse light '05 Legacy wagon " and all will be well

It may eventually get its own page, but as you may guess - building a new site from the ground up is FUN & EASY...

Yesterday we also added third brake light covers for the factory wings on the '05 Legacy and Outback Sedans!

This was the posting in the vendor thread HERE

Sorry for the delay, as you can imagine we have all been hard at work with the web presence change.

We have added covers for the LED third brake lights on the wagons (the ones in the roof spoiler) -- Also fits LED's on the 02-05 Impreza sedan wings, including STi

We have also added the back up lights for the 05 Legacy and 05 Outback wagons (the ones in the middle of the hatch)

The drivers side is stock, and the passengers side has the cover done in Smoke.

Axis, didn't get to take any photos of the black LGT, it sold almost immediately. Didn't get a chance for a photo shoot. We are building another one in the shop now. It is a black LGT 5MT. P1's in Crystal Ti, Sti shift knob, STi sill plates, Pedal covers, Our smoked taillight covers, and tints. Should be done with it tomorrow. The Smoked taillights, sill plates and shift know were on a little while ago. The wheels and tires were getting together and I think the tint is scheduled for Friday AM. With any luck we can get some photos snapped before this one is snapped up!

I dunno, the more I look at it on my car, the more it looks like it has caterpillars crawling across the hatch. Still undecided.

jedi - i was fine with it until the caterpillar statement -- now thats all i see when looking at the picture.

I'd say stick with clears :)

i want to get tints for the turn signals on the mirrors -- anyone make those? (i think OCDetails did it on his car -- I gotta go check his old threads)

not a fan of the darker ones on the silver...since they blend in with the lighter cars, I would just leave them alone, although, with the darker cars, it is a MUST that they get tinted. The light strips are distracting on the rear. Same thing with the 3rd brake light, on the lighter cars, it blends, especially on the silver like JM and I have, but for the darker cars, the white stands out, so the film on the 3rd light is also a must.

just my thoughts.

How about this? :D

honestly i'd say i like the clear better. The tint just looks too out of place, if i didnt know ahead of time that you tinted out the reverse lights i'd be thinking "WTF are those dark stripes on the back of that car"

Are there any pics of what the "stealth" level tints look like over the yellow turn indicators when they aren't turned on? ie, pics of the lgt sedan and wrx on your website (at least that I saw) are only over red and clear tail lights.
