LegacyGTBiggie
I know a shop that will do powdercoating. But you have to pic the color out of a book of colors. Ill see if i can find the business card i got from them. They are in beltsville. Then there is that wheel shop in jessup that also colors paints/powdercoats. Woodstock
I called today and its $300 for a set of rims(stripping and powdercoating), or $75 per rim. Is it worth it to powdercoat? I'm having a hard time to decide since $300 could get me 2 or 3 tires already.
LegacyGTBiggie
Was it just 300 including the stripping? I ended up paying a lot more than that. Its supposed to last a LOT longer than paint. Fade less chip less. Bootyhouse has my rim i got powder coated. I did not really drive on them much.
Woodstock
that's what he said, including stripping. do you pay for the labor too? maybe not including the labor.

Woodstock
UPDATE: Do Rotas come powdercoated? He just told me its powdercoated, and it will be around $100 per rim. Or $80 per rim if he have to strip them by himself. is Steve a honest guy?
LegacyGTBiggie
I know him through the airbrusher there and my mom. So id liek to say so. Chuck his airbrusher has been a friend of my mom since he was a student back in the 70s or 80s. So I trust him.

Woodstock
because at first, Steve said, it was going to be $300 for all 4 rims. Now, It might cost me $400 for all 4 or more. I got a good deal with Potenza RE070(I think, the stock tires for Infinity G35) $200 for all 4 tires; 225/40/18, with balancing and mounting, $300 all together. LegacyGTBiggie
Not bad. I paid 600 with stripping and then powdercoating. So 400 aint bad. The one thing i will say is the stripping is often done by another company and he is at the whim of their charging. I know for me that drove the cost up.
