No way you need that much down force for a daily driver, although I agree, it looks good on the pics that fwa posted... probably because it's actually a rally car.

 

Dem fins dun add downforce. They increase lateral stability. Handy on gravel, never useful for a road car however.

 

Those wings are popular over here though, allot came accross on japanese imports a couple years ago when those wings appeared. They don't look half bad on prodrive style STi's though.

The newbism.

There is quite a bit of wing flex on that particular model wing on the early STIs. Spend time at speed behind one of them and you will see 1-2 inches of flex. One way to cure it is to add those inserts. It also adds lateral stability without adding much drag.

I like it because its a bit higher than our spoiler, and stretches closer to the rear window

 

i dont think it would be as obnoxious as the wrx spoilers look on our cars

I opened mine up, took some thin gauge mesh and popped it in where the blocker plate holes used to be, and viola! Rain hardly gets in, fresh air circulates, and it keeps leaves and stuff out of it. I think its worth it.
