HID's

I'm having trouble deciding between the 6000k's and the 10000k's. Any advice?

6k so you can see.

Any explanation? I know nothing about them? I can select a difference in watts as well.

I would say do 5K. Even better 4.5K 6K is to blue and will get lost in the rain.

im running 4.5k i like them dont get me wrong but i would have went with the 5K if i had to do it over again.

I have the 6000k and I like them, but having seen others in person, i'd definitely never go higher than 6k. I don't have any problem seeing with mine. Sure, maybe it's not as good as a 4.5 or 5k as far as visibility, but it's as good or better than stock for sure.

5k is what you want and that is in 35w or 55w setups.

I'm running 35w with 4500k bulbs and the wiring harness. Just installed mine last weekend and really didn't get to try them out in the dark until Tuesday. The improvement I saw was impressive. It covers more in front of me and in the distance. I bought mine from DDM Tuning. Granted, I didn't support a Vendor on here but I got it cheaper. If you want to support a vendor, Here the Link to Xenon Expert ddm kit Personally, I wouldn't get anything more than 4500k and 35w. If you go with 55w unit, oncoming traffic might flash their brights at you and it might be illegal for 55w in your area.

Not that it matters to most people (myself included), but just F.Y.I. it's often illegal to put HID's in a vehicle that didn't come with them. (at least in michigan, so I wouldn't be suprised if it is in other states as well) Regardless of wattage.

It might not be so common for Yoopers to have HIDs, factory or aftermarket, it's common around here. I'll have to verify if aftermarket HIDs are actually illegal in Michigan or if law enforcement just don't care. I have a family member that's a sherifs deputy, so I'll just ask him.

It's a federal D.O.T. law and unless it is a manufactured item for the vehicle it is technically illegal to put in. Now we all know its also illegal to modify emissions systems etc... but do we really care... HELL NO!!!!

Should be here tomorrow. I'm thinking about trying to retro fit some fog's, or put some PIAA's where you'd see a Front Mount on the far sides.

get 35W, 55W is too bright

you can get either one you want. I personally like my 55w for my retro for the low beams and 35w for fogs.

4300k is the optimum output and what is fitted to cars with stock HIDs.

I have 4300k in mine and they are just fantastic

curious, why not slim kits? I'm trying to decide before ordering this weekend.

you mean "most" stock cars. There are some that come with 5k bulbs.

So they are in. Pictures tonight but I can't figure out where to mount my driver side ballast. Right now it's taped up on some mcguiver type thing. Anyone have any advice or pictures?
