Toallhisdoom
So need to replace my exhaust manifold studs. They have bolts in now with UEL headers that do not lign up or seat perfectly. So get leaks and exhaust noise. The guy at subaru dealer said 2.81$ per bolt, and 5.84$ per nut! WTH! not paying 30 some dollars for 6 nuts. and then $10 per gasket. He said 10x41mm for the studs. Anyone know where I can order these?
Stang70Fastback
What are you talking about?! That's a hell of a deal! Only 5.84 cents per nut! If it was 5.84 DOLLARS per nut, I might see how you might be upset. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZN9XWDdxkq0/T_6TIbcqPaI/AAAAAAAAAM4/b2YeJg1dX78/s320/38528-trollface-trol-d.jpg
JermTheElf
The lady on the corner charges me way more per nut.
Moderators BarManBean Posted August 19, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 19, 2013 Typical pricing for those, believe it or not. Check at an Ace Hardware if you have one local, I've had good luck finding auto-grade studes there in the past. Buy one of each (bolt / nut) from the dealer and take it with you to match things up (unless you also know the tread pitch already...) Just figure out pitch, length and diameter and go to a hardware store.
Toallhisdoom
Alright. well he said 10x41 so is that diameter and length? And now to figure out pitch.... lol
Moderators BarManBean Posted August 19, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 19, 2013 Alright. well he said 10x41 so is that diameter and length? And now to figure out pitch.... lol It's either 1.25 or 1.5. Either match it up to one from the dealer or just buy both and see which one will thread in when you install--return the others. JermTheElf
Buy a 10d 1.25 and a 10d 1.5 nut from a hardware store and thread it on. See what works. It's not rocket science.

pleaidestar
Good luck drifting awd with 125 hp... pep boys sells the exact nuts and bolts you will need, I bought some for mine from there. You can even do better by going to a grainger and requesting a high heat galvanized thread rod and lock nuts (not the ones with the plastic in them) the nuts have a oblong shape to them. Moderators BarManBean Posted August 21, 2013 Moderators Share Posted August 21, 2013 I have an update. Stepped into an advance auto last night specifically to check for these (was passing by). 99% sure that they're right on the shelf. Yellow package listed as exhaust manifold studs, $6 for two studs wIth nuts it looked like. Hope that helps.
