acumenhokie
Who is going to get one and make it fit? http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2773676 Shout out to my installer Dave @ FAST of West Chester for pointing it out. jackal8788
Very interesting. We would also need a modified downpipe for this, true? VF54 to 20G to VF54 to 18G build thread
GTEASER
Yes the downpipe would need modification. But more importantly, the header will not fit an EJ block and will need significant modification too. Since this is made for the FA motor, the exhaust ports are not the same distance apart from side to side as the EJ motor. acumenhokie
Very interesting. We would also need a modified downpipe for this, true? Probably lots of modifications. Ignoring the downpipe and looking at only the header I doubt the ports coming off the FA20 engine are the same as our EJ25. Still, might be easier to make that fit than building from scratch... GTEASER
My ultimate direction is becoming clearer. I best start building that spare motor I have sitting in the garage. cww516
If you time it right (and built it right), you can replace your clutch at the same time!
GTEASER
Every two years just throw the other motor in. Not a bad idea really. Exactly! Emission tests are 2 years apart. Keep one motor relatively stock, maybe Stage2, and build the other big! ebo03
I saw Grimmspeed's post on NASIOC yesterday. Looks like a solid kit.
ebo03
Not knowing much about the FA motors I would guess there would be far more fab work involved to get this kit modified for a 5th gen LGT. I haven't looked in the engine bay or under a new WRX. That being said, I'm thinking of space limitations and differences revolving around subframe, motor mounts, oil pan, oil scavenge, etc. In other words way more complex than just the different spacing between the exhaust ports. Sarang
The best part of the NASIOC thread is the stupid bickering that they do. They make me seem like a nice guy...
Rhitter
I may, or may not, have possibly known, or not, someone who thought this was a great idea and may not have ever been caught... Honestly though (besides cost) why is this a bad idea? How do they "catch" you. As long as you have a motor from your model, isn't the answer just my last one exploded and this was the cheapest way to get it running again?
