Tomkat1127
i thought cobb had single tips and sprank/infamous had dual tips (meaning the sprank/inf was a quad tip total)... not the walls? I am not 100% sure. I have not seen the Cobb version. I do remember reading in the mSprank/Infamous/Stromung GB or GI thread that the Cobb system is single wall tips. We both may be right! Doesn't matter, both (meaning any Stromung made CBE for Legacy) can not be bought new anymore and that is a shame. The Stromung sounds good but is probably louder then Borla. Not that is a bad thing, some may like the softer tone of Borla. I wouldn't say my Stromung has a drone but at certain RPM's there is some resonance. It can't be too bad or my wife and two small kids would have complained.
scoobydoobie
Stromung was offered with dual walled tips as an option before msprank's version. But it cost extra. Mspranks version came standard with dual wall tips and had a 3" flat flange and flex section, v.s. before the Stromung was available with a 2.5" mid pipe flange only. RedDawg
I'm debating between borla and stromung to complete the turbo back, has anyone noticed if either of these have any drone at highway speeds? It's 100kms round trip to work and back everyday and I can't justify the price if my head is buzzing the whole time. i have the msprank stromung and during highway cruising (i do ~400mile roadtrip to visit family a few times a year) u can barely hear it with the radio on. Above 4/5k rpms though, it's like "oh yea, i have an exhaust!"

HAMMER DOWN
K&N Typhoon intake, GMS Crossover & UP pipe, & Invidia HI-Flow CAT DP & V2 cat back. Exhaust clip, inside on out. dspecbl
I am starting to think that finding video/audio clips of LGT's with Headers on them is very hard to do. I am really considering the Tomei Extreme but would love to hear one first. I want more of the boxer rumble... And IMO, the HKS is not loud. It is not even close to loud. On my car the factory full exhaust with just the 2 washer hogzaust was louder than the HKS and Perrin catted down I am running now. Also this car is quieter than my e36 bimmer with the Active Autoworks cat-back and alot quieter than my '06 tacoma with Doug Thorley long tube headers, custom y-pipe after factory resinators and borla muffler. Maybe i just used to it, but it doesn't drone and my snow tires are louder than my exhaust going down the freeway. I think people think it is loud because of the size of the tips. That is just my opinion though. Any quieter and and you might as well just leave the factory exhaust until you really need a exhaust because of the power being built. I am hopefully getting a GoPro soon so I can make a video. Until then, it is just my word and my opinion saying that the HKS is really not that loud. TRSCobra
My HKS was too loud for me (and my neighborhood). Not so much at first, but once I swapped in a turbo with a TD06 hotside it wasn't so silent anymore. Maybe I'm just getting old.
