You mean something like this or do you want something deeper?

Yes _aftermarket rims... The lip dosn't have to be too big but what rim options do we have?

You have tons of options. Just look around online. tires.com, wheelmax.com, tirerack.com... the list is long.

I think he's looking for something like the BBS RG-R, SSR Velbrets, or HP Design New Lightning.

I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket wheels anymore, especially on family sedans/wagons, but all of these are pretty classy, IMO. I'm looking for a set of the BBS or Velbrets, but I can't justify spending $2500+ on wheels just yet :)

Asanti Wheels (aka Lexani) makes rims with the following patterns:

Ostrich skin

Zebra skin

Alligator skin

Stone studded (aka 65,000 karats of on the spokes, the true bling)

Cherry Wood

Bur'wood

etc.

hey, that's what it is, I didnt make those wheels. :p

Back on the subject, there are a lot of wheels out there, just pick the style you like, and go through the "wheels, tires, offsets" FAQ to see if the wheel you picked has an offset or size that can fit on the GT.

If you have problems finding out something on wheels, you can PM me.

Use http://www.wheelspecs.com for your source of "style" and go from there. 90% of the time, you are looking to see if the wheel manufacturer makes the rim you want in the size (height and width), offset, and bolt pattern that will fit the GT. The site isnt quite up-to-date, but it covers most of the rims used today. I guess I should post up a large inventory list of ALL aftermarket parts for the GT. I am sure you guys will love to have a huge list of links just sitting around that is a sticky for you all to do your shopping with. I wont be able to cover all the parts because new ones are coming out all the time and it's just only me that's updating the list. That way, you guys dont need to ask "what if's" or "does" or "anyone makes a" about the parts.

My method was the following:

- read the faq. jot down a general idea of what you're looking for. stock? stock but wider? +1 and stock, +1 and wider etc. find out the range of offsets and specs that the faq outlined. also, keep a watchful eye on this forum to see if your burning questions have already been asked.

- ask questions

- head over to wheelspecs.com to see the kinds of wheels that your fittings will match to. you could search all day and night and find wheel that looks great but if it doesn't fit, you're wasting time.

- like Keefe said, unfortunately, wheelspec isn't updated to reflect new wheels models. the old and current wheels have missing information also.

- i took it a step further and confirmed the wheels i wanted actually exist so i visited the manufacturer's website and made sure the wheel was in thier current line-up. also check the japanese website if applicable. enkei's japanese website differs a lot from their US website.

- once you know it exists, all you have to do is find it.

tirerack.com

discounttiredirect.com

wheelmax.com

1010tires.com

etc.

With regard to "lippyness" which I like, I saw a ~2004 Golf GTI with a set of HP design Evo's (New Lightnings) ~18x8.5 or 9's, it looked VERY nice. I looked up the wheels and the offset is +38, hence the nice polished lip. I am assuming that they won't work with the LGT due to the rather smallish offset. Assuming that you only did a pink drop and went no larger the 225-40-18, and maybe roll the fenders, I wonder if you could get away with them?

Jah64, that depends of what that "+38" offset as for (either the 8.5" wide or 9" wide). The FAQ I wrote up is also designed for lowering as much as 2" and I took in consideration of OEM spring perches as well and took out a few sizes initially so that the numbers I came up with would work for 90% of the applications that most people would use or try to use (including motorsports).

You might be able to get away with the 8.5", but you will have to roll the fenders A LOT and run a 245/35/18 tire. If you dont want to take that gamble of rolling fenders, dont bother looking that far with a +38mm offset at 8.5" wide.

I think those Asanti wheels are $250,000.00 for the diamond ones. I would rather buy 31 sets of HRE wheels (assuming $8,000/set). Hell, you can buy an LGT for the price of the tax on those wheels (about $27,000)

Now all I gotta do is make a really big hit rap song or play in the NBA or NFL.

I re-he-heeaaally want to see those on a Legacy. They look the same as the S203 rims, save the red on black STi center caps from the S203.

Please do post the stats and pics of those wheels as soon as you can.

EDIT: HOLY SMOKES, those are ROTAS???!!!! For that price, I would have figured that they were BBS REs!!!

Are the Formula Mesh rims forged? At least they are 18x8 on 5x100 and 48mm offset. Gold, Grey or Silver. Silver on a bright red or WR-Blue Legacy GT/STi for me, thanks.

Yet Subydude's fitment guide don't recommend them for the 95-present Legacy. Funny, but those stats sound about right for +1 a 05 Legacy GT.

What's the word?

How about 8"s or 7.5"s with the 225's? When you go from a 7" rim to an 8" rim, same make and same offset, where is the change? to the inside, to the outside, or is it bi-directional?

Formula Mesh are cast.. same patent number as any other design, but just in a cast form to keep the costs low.
