ebay strut towers feedback

I looked around the forum and found interesting leads for ebay STBs. Price is very tempting - $76 shipped for front & rear vs $360 Cuscos. I'm wondering if "you got what you paid for" applies in this situation. Anyone has the ebay bars? Are they any good? Do they rust?

Here's the link -

Thanks in advance!

We had the same debate on the Buick forum, some say they don't do anything, some say it's a good handling mod. I had to see it for my self and got a F & R bar for my land yacht - noticeable difference, money well spent. I'm assuming it could be a similar situation in the Subaru community

They help if your T-Tops are leaking, otherwise worthless for anything but bling and an extra line on your mod list.

I am using them. Dont seem to make any difference, but look good though. And the fronts take some modifying to fit, but the seller will credit you $20 if you tell him before leaving feedback. So I only paid $56 for front and rear. Mine are from this seller though.

^ I have these on my watch list on ebay actually :). I wasnt expecting a whole lot of results from these though. Funny how (from what I have seen) 9/10 people have strut bars here and they are the STI or Cusco bars. Yet they dont do much of anything.

They are just bling. All of them.

Up front, the firewall is your brace. Strut towers are mounted to it.

In the rear, struts are mounted to the floor. How the heck are you going to brace the floor? Lol.

+1. I swear people are crazy when they argue otherwise. Its a good  though

Many times when they dont ask, I still give them the truth. Costs me a few sales a week. But I sleep better. When I seep.

Same here.

I put a strut tower brace on my Legacy a couple of months ago and it was the best improvement I can make dollar for dollar on my car. I noticed the difference when I brought my car in for service and they gave me a new Legacy to drive around for the day. My car is much more tighter on the wheel especially at higher speeds and the dip and roll in the front end on turns is much less. I also put a thicker sway bar on the rear end and the rear is less jumpy and much more steady and solid on the highway. The parts were relatively inexpensive, about $300 and I had a shop here on Long Island install it for another $150. The installation would have been more if my car needed an alignment but it did not so the whole improvement cost less than $500. Best thing I could have done to the car for the money...big improvement!!
