I found there is a gas station in Chelsea that sells E85!!! Like $1.79/gal
http://www.burkeoil.com/e85inma.htm
Cheap race gas for the masses! I guess I'll be investigating E85 tune.

Can't imagine why you would want to run that, Unclemat.

2hrs away from me, but their biofuels storage facility is located in holoyoke, which is 10 minutes from me. Might have to test out the e85.

Kinda off topic, but I was coming back from Sunday River in Maine (Gray-Bethel) yesterday and was totally suprised that there was no 93 available anywhere. I hadn't been up there in my LGT in over a year, but I used to be able to get 93 just about anywhere... I was running dangerously low on gas and I made it all the way to the Sunoco right by the highway where I used to always fill up... they had 87, 89, 91 and "91" sticker over the 93 button... WTF
Is this statewide? (the gas station guy wasn't sure, but he said no one locally had 93 in over a year)
Luckily, I had my accessport in the trunk and I was able to flash the Stage 2 91OCT map...
BUT Does anyone know if this is an isolated area, or is this throughout Maine? Also, should we be worried about the current economy crisis making this more of a common thing elsewhere in NE.
Just some additional info... the 91 octane (both of them.. ha ha) at the Sunoco was $2.19/Gallon in Maine. I only got $20 worth to make it home, and then I filled up with 93 octane this morning for $2.09 at the Hess in Southie!
SO, FYI... if you're going to Maine (esp. Sunday River) bring your accessports or fill up elsewhere!

That station isn't too far from Boston! How much extra would it cost to get an e85 tune if you were planning on getting an etune or a protune???
Thanks Uncle!

Most vendors probably don't have an E85 e-tune. You'd have to protune, and I'd think it would be the same rate as a normal protune, you're just using different fuel.
Also IIRC at the least to run E85 you need new injectors and a couple other things to support the fuel. (just remember a bit from reading e85 tune threads)

^^yeah you need bigger injectors I believe. you might be able to get an e-tune for it as I think the only difference is scaling the injectors to put in the proper amount of fuel
as far as the 91 only in maine...yeah that sucks. I go up to sunday river very often, but stay at my friend's in center conway, NH and drive there in the morning (about an hour). I always make sure to fill up with 93 at the last gas station on the border of NH/ME. I have not seen 93 in ME all season this year, and I've covered some decent ground in southern maine.
the thing is, there are a BUNCH of stations in northern NH as well that only carry 91. i've only found a station here and there that have 93. kind of makes me want to get a protune for both 91 and 93 when i get it done, so i can load myself with 91 if i get stuck in NH.

That's what I'm going to have to do, too! I think PDX said it would be another $25 on top of the $150 for a eTune, to get a 91 map, too!
I'm headed up to Sunday river, then Sugarloaf on Thursday... I'll have my AP with me so I can swap to the 91 RT Map on my AP once I need to fill up!
BTW... What size injectors do you need? Would it work with a stock fuel pump?

Yeah, i had a friend from Connecticut with the same problem as you when he came up to visit. I only know of one gas station in maine, at least southern maine, that has 93 octane. It's a Mobil in Yarmouth right off the 295 exit. It's ghey!!!!

I think 650's would have done it before, but I dont think you can find them new anymore they stopped producing them. So the next step up, i think its 740? and yeah i believe the stock FP will do it, i dont recall reading anything saying otherwise. dont quote me on that, though...i could be wrong
