Like the title says...

What is the general time frame that I will be able to?

1) Know the General 2010 Legacy Lineup Details and Comparison Shop with Actual Physical Specifications, not speculative ones!

2) See and test drive the 2010 Legacies!

3) Pre-order or Purchase one!

Thanks in Advance! :)

I predict:

We'll see the design in Detroit.

We'll get the info on options 'leaked' to us in March or April, maybe as early as February, but the chances are slim that info will be available at NAIAS. Prices will probably be leaked to us by insiders, or dealers when the inventory entries show up in the computers, probably in April or May.

We'll start to see them arrive on dealer lots without fanfare of any kind, probably in June.

Whether you can pre-order before June depends on how competent your subaru dealer, but probably not before April or May, as mentioned. Some subaru dealers, like the one in my area, will probably still be picking their noses, while other parts of the country have the cars in stock this upcoming summer. Some will just arrive one day, and the salesmen will have no idea why or how. Only the business manager will have known they were ordered.

The website and dealer brochures probably won't be updated until August, after people have already started buying them.

This is when they'll release the STi Legacy with the twin turbo H6, correct?

Drops n00b bait in the water, waits patiently....

No biting from me... I'm no noob! (But wouldn't that be nice!)

Anyway... this thread just popped up right after I posted this one... and it might give us a glimpse of what is to come... but nothing solid to work with!

I just figured someone might know ballpark dates when the wating and speculation would end and the hard facts would be released!

Iwannasportsedan pretty much summed up what I'm looking for! Thanks!

I just went to the Auto show in Boston... I was trying to start planting some subie seeds in my wife's mind... Potentially seeing how she might react to some of the cars I would like to move into next... What a dissapointment.... notta one turbo subie to slip her into... only turbo was on the Severe Rescue Forrester XTI thing... which was badass in person BTW... but I was able to accomplish nothing in terms of familiarizing her with subies I would actually want to drive! Damn! In fact, the only good thing that came out of the show, which might help me get us into another subie, was when the guy at the acua booth told her that subaru AWD was the best thing out there... and nothing that Acura or Honda had would even come close...!!!

He was a college kid, who had a subaru 2.5i Leggy for a while himself... he wasn't really an acura guy! ;) Which was kinda funny!

Anyway... My wife Hates my car... I got some insight as to why, and what she would like in a car while we were at the show... but I got no loving from the head honcho who left the REAL subies of the showroom floor????

I'm not sure exactly when they will show it for the first time but the build out on the current model is April 17 of 09'. They will be running the new model the next day. And let me tell you.... Its a sweet car. I think you all will be very pleased!!!

You must have forgotten to post the pictures...

oh, man...

You had me. You HAD me.

Then you say something like that... camry traits. It is bad enough that the tail lights of my current legacy look even slightly like the center-split camry tail lights of the previous body style.

I still hope this is good, but I am less hopeful than a few minutes ago.

the word camry should not be spoken in the presence of quality products like the legacy.

pics however.. then we shall judge.

since you said that however.. i'm fairly sure I wont be happy with it.

Screeeeeeeeccchhhhhhhhh!!! Camry traits?!

I park right next to a coworker's Camry all the time and if I happen to look out the window, all I can think about is how incredibly dull his car is. It's got the appeal of a refrigerator.

If they've merged any of the left with what's on the right, I'm done. *Salute*, see you guys around, lol...

I see a dozen camrys in the lot where I work, current and previous.

That angle really shows the difference in size. And the current Camry is just as much larger, if not moreso.

Everything about the exterior of the Legacy is smaller. The interior is smaller, too, but fine for 2-4 people. If the Legacy gains a slight bit of interior room, for comfort, I don't have a problem.

But if someone takes a pic of '10+ vs 2005-'09 Legacy, and it looks like that photo... Substituting a larger legacy for that Camry...

I'm not necessarily leaving, but sure as hell not buying a new Legacy, I'll buy a clapped out, hard-lived 92 SVX first. More likely, just a '09 Spec B in red or black, when the time comes.

And after the big 3 bail out, I have a philosophical admonition to never buy another Big 3 vehicle, after they advocate theft of my earnings by the gub'ment. They don't get what's left over after taxes.

If Legacy goes, and the big 3 sell out to socialism, and Mazda got stupid with the 6... there is hardly anything truly attractive left on the market.

yup, at my office one morning there was a dark blue camry parked next to.... you guessed it.. a dark blue camry

now mind you this is an office with less than 75 people in it. that means 2 out of 75 have dark blue camrys. On the other side is a grey camry and a black one. so 4/75 in my office have camrys. I am the only subaru.. at all..

I watned to take a pic of those 2 camrys and make one of those motivational posters that says UNIQUE, like everyone else.

the camry is what happens when humanity gives up on individuality, when people settle for mediocrity instead of striving for accomplishment. the camry represents our failing society.

maybe I'm reading too much into things.:lol:

Here's a response to that. Even if you don't buy from the big three, they're still getting your money, with the bailout:

I won't be buying a new car just now, since the Legacy is doing just fine. So my next car will be after the nigh-on-inevitable bail out...

So since their move is first, my response is to not give them one red cent, since they already will have taken some tax money.

But that poster is about right.

the one that doesn't look like a melted hotwheels car.

gnc if you know someone at subaru the next time you see them I want you to kick them int he nuts.. hard..

camry sized=no purchase... big fat obese shit cars dont deserve the Subaru badge. They are not worthy.

*sigh.. I guess my next car will have to be a bmw or something. Subaru has abandoned its base entirely.

I am holding a bit of judgement left until I see it...

But if it looks like that camry, or any of the new Acuras, Nissans, or Toyotas... I will be right there with you.

Except my next car will be a used 09 Spec B, or a used example of the new A4, or something with only two doors. Don't like the new BMWs all that much, either. Drivetrain is always good, but the rest of the new BMW cars have fallen from the the E36, and even E46 3-series cars that were actually driver's machines. Now they are rolling conspicuous brand billboards.

Man, the choice of really, truly competent, yet affordable driver's cars is really dwindling. There are a few left, but for how long?

well, I guess I am being kind of harsh on a car I havent' seen yet....

I really like the new 3 series. I have test driven them before, they seem to handle great.

they just cost to darn much!

I agree with you.. the good choices out there are dwindling and its only going to get worse if they appoint an auto czar arm of the govt that controls what can be made. Not to mention the rising waters of cafe standards, makers will sacrifice the only things they can.. weight and power.. which means making cars small and weak.

...my question is if the 2010 Legacy we'll receive in N.America is the same car that the row will receive? Like what Honda and Mazda do w/the Accord (the current Accord is actually the Honda Inspire) and 6 (the current 6 is bloated compared to the JDM and Euro model)...that makes big difference between me waiting for the '10 and grabbing a '08 or '09 LGT.

My main concern is with weight. Camry like proportions mean a significant weight gain as well. A person might read about a possible 300 hp and get excited, but what good is it if the car gains 300 lbs as well? Not to mention the effects of the weight on handling. My LGT's bone stock and although I crave more horsepower (who doesn't?), I'm real happy with the size of the car itself and the way it rides/handles.

I don't want a bigger, bloated Legacy. Why do manufacturers have to constantly increase the size of things with each subsequent restyle? Arrrrggggghhhhhhhhh!!
