In the coilover world, BC's are junk. and the bar you mentioned, if you are talking about the one normally for the LGT, wont fit your car.

Get RCE tarmac1 coilovers and a front bar that will fit the 2.5i. one option is to get the Tribecca front bar, which is also 25mm and will fit your car.

There are much better options out there then coilovers period. A good strut and spring combo will get you 90% of the performance and non of the headache. Konis and your spring of choice will be your best bet. If you are looking at sway bars, the Tribeca bar is a cheap upgrade, Whiteline has some stuff for the NA. Also remember to get endlinks as you wont get the full benefit from the upgrade.

Get the Konis and don't buy something that will be a headache down the road. Coilovers get old after everyone and their brother complains about the ride. If you are dead set on coilovers then get RCEs or KWs or something not made in China.

ya i dont have a rear bar, as far as front sway bar il prob do the tribeca sway bar deal, not sure what im going to do as far as coils or just struts with springs

rear sway is significantly more important on our cars. The front is already a 19 or 20 or something like that. The rear is tiny at 15 or 16. I have a 22 in the rear set to stiff and it's fairly balanced now, the rear even comes out every now and again if I try hard enough ;)

For rear sway bar, there are AVO 20mm, Cusco 21mm, Whiteline 20mm, RalliTEK 19mm.

I have RCE T1's they are absolutely incredible. Best mod I have ever done. Worth every penny. Haven't done sways yet but that and some bushings are next.

I just recently ordered a set of these myself. Very excited!

I was refering to SubaruTim's post; I recently ordered the RaceComp Engineering Tarmac 1 coilovers.

As far as sway bars, I'm running the OEM JDM 20mm tubular (hollow) rear sway bar with the stock front. I ordered it from RalliTEK a long time ago so it came with their polyurethane bushings. They dont sell these anymore though.

EDIT: It appears the OEM JDM 20mm rear sway bar is back on RalliTEK's site.

my recommendation is listen to AZP Installs they probably have more and better experience (knowledge) then most of us on the forum. also hes a vendor *hint hint*

Thanks! We have been in the Subaru game for 10+ years including tracking and racing our Subies since 1999. We actually down-sell folks because we don't like to see them spend their hard earned money unwisely.

Coilovers don't ride rough because they're coilovers, they ride rough because coilovers tend to be designed for track use and not on bumpy roads. Surely some coilovers can ride well. After all, they're basically a pre-assembled spring/strut assembly, no?

Coilovers can ride well if the dampers are quality, like the RCE and KWs. Even then, they are designed for track use. Most folks on here are not to the level even if they track their cars to need coilovers. Cheap ones just make the car borderline dangerous on the street in my opinion.

Bottom line is that konis and springs will be a better setup for a street and even lightly tracked car. If you must step up to coils, KWs or RCEs are the way to go.

Why do you say that? We have installed tons of konis and bilsteins on outbacks.

Mike

Every Outback I've seen on Bilsteins look far too low for my taste. Coilovers are the only option I've seen that allow for the car to be lowered a bit without looking like it's been lowered.

A stock Outback looks lifted.

A stock Legacy looks good.

An Outback on coilovers looks like a stock Legacy

An Outback on Bilsteins looks like like the suspension collapsed.

You can't go too low with an Outback because the extra wide stuck-on fender bits hang out too far past the tires and the whole lowering thing just looks more exaggerated.
