ur a bus
Seems like a semi-popular topic here: Left side of dash rattles, and/or mounting tabs are broken. Question for those that have had it happen: Is this the tab that broke off?
deneb
How did you get the panel off to see that tab? My dash rattles like crazy...
Deer Killer
No, the tabs are under the dash near the windshield, have to take the dash off to get to them. I suppose you could use an endoscope!
Fast Wagon
I needed a new dash to cure my rattles.
ur a bus
The tab I am pointing at is most definitely broken and cracked. It looks like it was overtightened at the factory. The dash will most definitely have to be replaced. The end piece just unsnaps from the main dash. Steve

ur a bus
About 15 minutes after I made my last post, my co-worker and I made a trip into the parking lot, and looked at his 8500 mile LGT "unlimited" wagon, and found numerous cracks in the same tab. It was not yet broken off. I stopped by my servicing dealer after work, and they ordered a new dash for me. Hopefully, this will take care of my rattling issues. I am getting tired of this car quickly. It has WAY too many little issues for 29000 miles. It is entertaining to drive (when it isn't rattling), but there is no way in HELL that I will ever buy another Subaru unless I find myself living in massive snow country. Sorry, but it has Audi quality with Hyundai service people trying to fix it. Steve
