SQC049
Hey guys, I just picked this up today and already installed it. It is a Blitz Induction Cover and is a nice alternative for any after market intake. It replaces half of the stock air box. It looks pretty good and makes the car sound mean, but I'm not sure about power. I am getting tuned soon so I won't really know if it did anything because the car won't be dynoed till after. Here is one pic of it installed. I have a ton more so if anyone wants a little step-by-step on how to install it, I would be more than happy to put one up when I get home. Let me know what you guys think. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i311/sqc049/IMG_0018.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i311/sqc049/IMG_0014-1.jpg Super JDM part out: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65039 PM me an offer! jim1969
so it's like having a short ram intake?
IwannaSportSedan
Not bad... I have the blitz filter, and have thought about this... does it help intake flow, or just open it up to ingest the air that is under the hood? I kinda wish there was a vertical heat sheild divider or something along the frame rail to separate the heated airflow from the radiator and around the engine from coming in through the intake. (help out the intercooler a bit on the front end...) I imagine you would want the cooler air coming from the fender well area, instead. no more snorkel, either... whether that is good or bad... Abandonhope16
Couldn't you have left the snorkel? Where did you get it? How much? I believe someone did something similar as a DIY job. Looks good.
Spec B
Looks real clean..i like it. Did they provide the filter too?? how much?
SQC049
It is listed on a few sites for $135. It includes the filter and everything needed for install. You cannot keep the snorkel because this replaces half of the factory air box. It is similar to having a short ram intake only it has a few advantages. It is cheaper, there is no filter oil to screw with you MAF and it looks pretty cool. I like it, so it stays. I got it at Fizz Autosports for all those who asked. It took about a week as Blitz had it in stock in country. Rob can get anything. I have a few other parts on order with him. I love Fizz, I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I go there. I also bought my wheels from him. Super JDM part out: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65039 PM me an offer!
buplew
looks good. I assume you can hear the turbo whine and bov, as with an aftermarket intake?
CasopoliS
I would still want to port cold air to the front of it. sucking in that warm air might increase gas mileage!! lol. but not good for performance.
mbacis
I like it. Is it a replaceable filter element, or washable? Oh, and did it come with a C.A.R.B. sticker?

Yes, like every other intake it increases turbo noise and BOV sounds. Super JDM part out: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65039 PM me an offer! mickeyd2005
Is this an engine improvement? Did you do a datalog before and after showing MAF signal? It's definitely shiny and has the bling.

I believe that the filter is replaceable, not washable but I'm not sure because I can't read Japanese. No CARB sticker. PhilT
This looks like a professional version of the ziptie mod, that several members have done. It makes no difference at all in the quantity of air being drawn in by the turbo, as the stock intake provides no restriction to the stock turbo. Your intake temps will increase by about 30 or 40 degrees though. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon

Its not asking for it... it gets what it asks for out of the stock box. heck an 18g probably does too. big hp setups and the stock box would be like us breathing through a straw. but with a small turbo, the flow is there. I bet it sounds nice and yes it looks neat... if anything... do what you can about those temps
