p0420 is cat inefficient, that could still just be an o2 sensor. how do the nuts and bolts look? you think you can get the cat out to visually inspect it?

Ok first off i would well to let the A-HOLE that put the mastercraft oil filter on this car, that he should not be changing oil. he had it so tight that i had to literally hit it with a hammer and put a pipe wrench on it. IDIOTS!

Pics coming in a few.

Second Cat. Farthest to the back.

First Cat Closest to the front and has the O2 sensor in it.

Both Cats.

O2 sensor (THAT THE GUY SAID HE REPLACED AND THATS Y THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON OR HE THOUGHT WAS ON AND WASN'T WHEN I LOOKED AT IT)
doesn't look replaced...

Rusty Blots.. (i sprayed them all with PB so if i need to take them off they should come out easier)

eh... your gues is as good as mine. hear any rattling in either of them if you bang on them? the code means the cat is not working properly. it usually indicates the rear o2 sensor. id try to seperate the cats from the exhaust to visually inpsect them but i foresee bolts breaking and pipes not fitting back together again.

i foresee that as well.. well if i get gaskets and grind them down a lil do u think it would fit good enough together?? and there was only o2 sensor that i saw? the rear cat had a place for one but it was just a big rusted old bolt in the place of it... like its been there for a longggg time? no signs of wires back to that one? is there another one somewhere else?

and i did smack the front one and didn't hear anything the rear one only got a couple taps no sounds there ether.....

Does anyone know if that O2 sensor in that picture (it's in the first cat) is my upstream o2? And if it is where is my down stream one?

THANK YOU!

That's the upstream one before the first cat. The downstream sensor should be in or right behind the second cat.
