CHUCKmfnNORRIS
i have a 2011 2.5i and looking for a single cat-back exhaust, i have had no luck searching around for one. are there single exhausts from previous generations that will bolt up? GEE-OTTO
This is a great question and to my knowledge it hasn't been tested for fit and finish. However as simplistic as the layout is you can easy have a custom muffler fabbed up.
apexjapan
Nothing will fit from previous generations - Subaru went for a dual exhaust for even 2.5i models for the 2008+ Impreza and Forester, and those were the closest fit for the 2010 Legacy models. Previous generation vehicles are not even close, you'd spend more fabricating them to fit than you would having a system fabricated from scratch. Given the costs involved and the gains possible (Lots, and Not Much), you are probably better off having just a muffler installed. GEE-OTTO
just hoping someone makes one Doubtful, not in a derogatory manner, but b/c the demand from the owners doesn't merit the R&D. Honestly you can have one made for less. Find a muffler you like and have it welded in place of your stock muffler.
bradze
what size is stock exhaust piping?
GEE-OTTO
what size is stock exhaust piping? 2.25" for the mid pipe and since you dont split down to dual mufflers it should be the same all the way back!
flyin
I took some measurements with a micrometer. The size changes as you go back, here are some measurements I took. Keep in mind the pipes are not perfectly round so i tried to get an average at different points. All measurements are OD 60.5mm or 2.38" after last cat, before center muffler 54mm or 2.125" after center muffler 50.1mm or 1.97" inlet to resonator 55.4 or 2.181" out of resonator What I have in mind is replacing the center muffler with a 2.25" (304SS) straight pipe, I figure it will fit into the front pipe, then over the rear. If it doesn't sound right I can swap in a magnaflow. I understand the GT's and 3.6's dual exhaust system will accept 08+ WRX axle backs, so here's hoping one of the aftermarket suppliers will start selling just the left side if it fits ours as well. CHUCKmfnNORRIS
that would be great to get just the left side. all the pipe after the headers is all 2.25" stock.
mrlaw
it would be nice if there is a nice catback performance for 2.5i .. dual tips probably ...
CHUCKmfnNORRIS
you would have to do some cutting of the rear bumper to fit a duel tip.
mrlaw
I can see there is a precut exhaust exit on the bumper it self. In one post a guy Used the modified turbo manifold to generate the rumble sound but I believed no Performance gain. I emailed xxleration and borla but they confirmed they haven't made one for 2012 yet. But they do have for 2010. you would have to do some cutting of the rear bumper to fit a duel tip. PrimeRib
you would have to do some cutting of the rear bumper to fit a duel tip. We have a cutout that is easily removed. You may have to get a hanger welded on.
