Strizzy
I dont know....but I do like the use of the garden hose. It's rubber heat wrap... get it right My bad luck build
Strizzy
I used radiator hose on mine...a little more stealth. Like I said, I will be doing some major clean up once it's running right. The big mess bother the shit out of me and I like the "stealth" look. My bad luck build

Strizzy
This is on my winter wheels, as these are my most recent pics taken mid-February. http://www.strizzyphoto.com/Other/Subaru/i-87X7wv6/0/X2/IMG586234tonemapped-X2.jpg http://www.strizzyphoto.com/Other/Subaru/i-qrMXjqQ/0/X2/IMG587123tonemapped-X2.jpg http://www.strizzyphoto.com/Other/Subaru/i-MHshDcx/0/X2/IMG5858-X2.jpg My bad luck build

WhiskeyTango
Well, everything is installed. It starts and runs. Base tune goes on tomorrow so I can at least drive around, then sometime next week I go full retard. Oh yea, we found the electrical gremlin... PLX's new DM-6 requires this weird voltage reducer thingy to make the gauge work, but for some reason, it put +12V to the chassis. So that is disconnected for now, until something can be figured out. Unless I wired it wrong, because I tend to do that at 1am after a couple beers. Anyways, I took some crappy cell phone pics of what I'm pretty sure are the first ever engine bay pics I've ever taken of my car. You'll notice the turbo was clocked to PERFECTLY fit my AVO fmic piping. It seriously couldn't fit any better. The 3" Perrin inlet fit, with some effort. The fuel pump housing had to be modded a bit more to fit the slightly larger Aeromotive pump. http://www.strizzyphoto.com/photos/i-mDxjnNz/0/X2/i-mDxjnNz-X2.jpg http://www.strizzyphoto.com/photos/i-s94LPnx/0/X2/i-s94LPnx-X2.jpg http://www.strizzyphoto.com/photos/i-7TrzwJf/0/X2/i-7TrzwJf-X2.jpg http://www.strizzyphoto.com/photos/i-3hSh4HD/0/X2/i-3hSh4HD-X2.jpg http://www.strizzyphoto.com/photos/i-NNb8B2h/0/X2/i-NNb8B2h-X2.jpg http://www.strizzyphoto.com/photos/i-6g2VZFc/0/X3/i-6g2VZFc-X3.jpg Clusterfu*k, it is. Strizzy
Just did a quick pull to see if the problem was fixed. But fueling was all over the place and the MAF has to be scaled. My bad luck build
Strizzy
Getting frustrated now. For some reason I only got one full log out of it. It's back to the same shit cutting out around 4700rpm. My bad luck build
Strizzy
Doing some thinking and more reading, but is it possibly to integrate a standalone EMS with the stock ECU to retain CANbus functionality? Can you cut the outputs controlling engine functions from the stock ECU, so it can't interfere with the standalone, but still allow the ECU to read inputs and keep it happy from throwing a CEL? As long as the tune for the EMS is keeping the engine running within the stock ECU's thresholds for throwing CELs, I think it could work. Input? bmx045
there's no need for an ems with subaru ecu's, especially 32bit ecu's like ours. what are you trying to accomplish?
Strizzy
When I move to larger injectors, I'm pretty sure the stock ECU won't be able to handle the injector pulse width needed to idle on pump gas. My bad luck build

Strizzy
Which would be fine if I planned on staying with the ID1000's I've been running. But I'll be going bigger in the near future anyways. With a 65lb/min turbo, my fueling is a bottleneck on E85. My bad luck build

drkknight99
so kind of a dumb thought, and no way an expert in anything, but is it possible of 1 of 2 things? After seeing the video, is it possible either from all the electricity the ecu is kinda jacked up or maybe in some way because of the bad grounding that the tune is corrupted? Strizzy
65lbs I love my Meth! Meth may be in my future. But I already have the upgraded fueling parts available to me for cheap. If I can find gas stations in the area that have unleaded 100 (or higher) I would actually consider DDing on race gas. A speedway a few blocks from me has 114 for 4.99/gal but it's leaded (they don't know the price is set wrong ) so kind of a dumb thought, and no way an expert in anything, but is it possible of 1 of 2 things? After seeing the video, is it possible either from all the electricity the ecu is kinda jacked up or maybe in some way because of the bad grounding that the tune is corrupted? It was low voltage going to the chassis and the ECU should be protected from that kind of stuff. And there would be other problems too. I had a corrupt map on my car once, it would randomly hit fuel cut and feel laggy as hell I wasn't having any other issues before, so I have a hard time believing my map is the issue. Especially since I'll get a random full log. My bad luck build

Strizzy
Here are some logs to compare. I don't really see anything that stands out among them. The first 3 are with my 82mm intake and GTX3076 on wastegate pressure, so the MAF voltage and manifold pressure are different fromthe other two. Ignore the WBO2 readings, I didn't have it plugged into my laptop. That last 2 are with my 20G at a mild 21psi target and 73mm intake. If you look at the "TIME" column, you will see gaps in what may look like a complete log. Other times, it just stops logging all together. Let me know if you notice a re-occurring pattern from log to log. I could use a fresh set of eyes.romraiderlog_20120329_200114.csvromraiderlog_20120329_200021.csvromraiderlog_20120329_195915.csvromraiderlog_20120302_142456.csvromraiderlog_20120302_133158.csv Edited March 30, 2012 by Strizzy My bad luck build
