Difficult to say from first-hand experience. You'd have to do some pretty sophisticated temperature measurements to tell. Zero Sports does have some nice graphs showing how it works, and the benefit, but they're also the manufacturer, so they may be biased.
On the other hand, the first WRX's didn't even HAVE a scoop splitter insert, and then Zero Sports made one, and then -- lo and behold! -- the next generation WRX had a splitter straight from the factory. Hmmm. Maybe these guys DO know what they're doing...
