Argh, yeah I picked up some 850cc side feeds a while back even though the conversion to top feed seems to be the right thing to do. Is there a big enough benefit from the top feeds that I should strongly consider ditching the side feeds that I bought and just go with the ID 1000s?

I believe that's more like the equivalent of 50 mpg. I think he said he is getting an actual of 23 mpgs but when you consider the cost difference per gallon, it's like you're doing 50 mpgs on gasoline. He has a thread somewhere about it which I believe he linked in this thread a little while ago.
