I test fit 18x9.5 +40 and I had 3/8" between wheel and strut with my OEM camber (whatever that is). Tires were 255/35/18, so not apples to apples.

With 3/8" spacing, if you have -3 degrees camber, you will rub. Also, I don't know by how much camber changes with compression of the suspension.
