Well, if the issue was really from the gaskets, then the car is doing just fine. It's just those gaskets that are messing it up. They cost 20 bucks.
Prior to changing them, you could spray some carb cleaner around the suspected areas to double check if it is indeed the issue. Do this when the car is bone cold.
That would wrap up my very recent idle issue for sure. I think I am still curious about engine health though, things just never seem "right". I think I may have a small leak somewhere still... I get rich dips between shift occasionally, so that screams vacuum leak to me. It makes me angry though, I've been through the whole vacuum system 999 times already. I'm seriously going to put screw type ring clamps on every hose.
