We used to be proponents of changing the first set of oil at 500 miles but after doing a bunch of research, 2000-3000 on the initial oil is a better way to go because the initial fill has conditioners in there that you want to keep in there a little longer.

As for what oils to run? We have always liked the Amsoil for >7500 OCI coupled with the Amsoil filters. For a more cost effective alternative, we started running the Motul C3 X-Clean about 3 years ago and the Blackstone Labs results from the Motul have been as good as the Amsoil on 7500mi OCIs.
