I agree, but if you are not aware that you have the lockout pulled, you can on accident be going into reverse instead of 6th. Of course if wont go in, just as it didn't for the OP or myself when it happened to me. While trying to force it in, you can damage some gears and bend the shift fork (depending on how hard you try to force it).
