It moves when I shut the car door so I wouldn't be surprised if I have to adjust it periodically. So far it doesn't seem to move much when I'm driving. It has a locking nut (like you'd fine in a camera mount). It does pull the vent all the way down but I don't really blow the air in my face, can use the middle vents and adjust the position of the mount to compensate.
