My expertise doesn't extend much beyond the driveway. lol When it comes to commercial car washes, there is a lot I don't know. I generally avoid them as a rule, but the half dozen times I have to use one in the winter every year has always been done with dread. There really isn't any safe way to get salt and crud off your car without scratching the paint, so I haven't ever really thought much about the varying degrees of safety between brushes. I guess I've always just used brushes of the boar's hair variety and didn't notice the difference.
