Personally I had this debate also, and a lot of the points have been covered:
-Interior refinement: Acura (hands down)
-Handling//performance: Acura (close call)
-mpg ($): Subaru (regular gas)
-COO: Subaru (repairs should be cheaper)
-Snow: Subaru (this car is amazing in the snow with the right set of tires)
At the end of the day its a close call. If I could afford it, I'd personally get an Acura TL SH-AWD. Don't get me wrong, I love my GT (I know you're looking for 3.6), but I would like a tad more refinement, especially in the interior. Either way, I don't think you are making a bad choice.
Yeah, the acura takes premium. But the difference between 87 and 93 is like 20 cents. With a 18.5 gallon tank, that's an additional 3.70 a fill up. If you fill up every week that's less than $200 a year.
I dunno about cost of ownership, our MDX has had nothing other than oil changes for the last 2 years and one change of the rear diff fluid. The service reminded seems to go off about twice a year, and acura only calls for a new filter every other oil change.
I would have got a TL, but good luck finding a manual
