If you're running low boost, the 25D ECU will be enough but anymore than that requires a piggyback or a standalone unit. I've seen 2 Imprezas (people around my way really like them) with 22E turbos pushing 5-7psi, running off the stock computers, one of them using a piggyback but both with EGT sensors & fuel monitoring units.
