Dealers love to recommend an alignment because it's all profit for them.

Like said, if your tires are wearing evenly and the car handles like it should, there is ZERO need for an alignment check.

FWIW, the last time I owned a vehicle that needed the alignment checked/adjusted was around 1988. It was a 1984 (or 85) Ford EXP.
