Those are all good observations. The 2013 does ride a little stiffer and seems a little quicker. There may be some subtle variations in the torque curve and tranny/gearing, but the two engines put out almost identical numbers at 170 hp/170 ft. lbs.. It's hard for one to be a race car when both turn out the same mpg. The 2013 has some nice improvements. Some car/consumer mags didn't like the stiffer suspension of the 2013 either.
