I hear mentioning of the stock 2011 tires. Are they crap? They're expensive tires, but I have been fairly pleased with them. On our Forester we switched to BF Goodrich all-seasons and they're awesome.

The OEMs are not good performers. If you can swing it, get some tires that will make the car more responsive, and perform better in all conditions. The ones listed so far are good suggestions.
